Christa Dawn Newberry is a watercolorist & storyteller whose work explores the beauty, character and quirkiness often found in God's creation.

Beginning in 2020, Christa began by spending countless hours in the studio determined to learn & understand the medium. It wasn't long before her distinctive approach of vibrant color, expressive detail and strong sense of story was recognized and commissioned by national conservation organizations, including Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.  

Christa was also selected as Quail Forever's 2025 Print Artist of the Year, and she still wears the t-shirt. 

While her colorful approach to wildlife brought her work to a broader audience, Christa's interests reach beyond any one species or category. Birds, dogs and other animals have become subjects through which she studies the beauty & quirkiness of God's world.

Believing that creation reveals something of the personality and beauty of its Creator, painting has become one of her favorite ways to slow down & take notice.

Working primarily in both professional & handmade watercolors from her own studio, Christa creates original paintings for private collectors alongside select fine-art giclee editions.

She lives and works in Oklahoma, and somewhat surprisingly to the woman who once stood in an art store asking God why He hadn't made her an artist, she now spends her days doing exactly that.
