This lovely bird almost ended up in the trash. I had given up all hope that he would turn out, laid down my watercolor brush & walked away.

Only to return later with the idea that I would play with color… since this unfortunate piece wasn't likely to become anything anyway.

And, what was destined for trash, has become one of my favorite pieces to date!
He reminds me so much of life, and the beauty that God makes of ashes.
