She is beautiful in all her Christmas glitter & finery.
And striking in a way that I always wanted to be, yet feared I had failed.

She is graceful in a manner that I often fear alludes me,
and poised with a confidence I long to possess.

However...
She also reminds me of something...
Something that is worth more than the nagging doubts I must refuse the time of day.

She is hope.

That's what it is.
She fills me with hope.

Hope that regardless of how Pinterest-y my Christmas is or is not,
or how well I fit into last year's holiday dress...

My home is filled with the ones I love
smells of their favorite foods
songs of my beloved Redeemer
and constant reminders that we are loved.

And that is what beauty should do.

Beauty should remind us that not only were we created in the image of Beauty Himself...
We are passionately & fiercely loved by HIm.

Enough so, that He gave us an unnecessarily beautiful world,
chased us when we ran away,
and has been fighting to keep us ever since.
